Can anyone tell me how I can trim my album field (which I have created by copying the file path to album field) from:
E:\mp3\Now That's What I Call Music\Now That's What I Call Music 1 - 2 CD\Disc1\ To: Now That's What I Call Music 1 and E:\mp3\Now That's What I Call Music\Now That's What I Call Music 2 - 2 CD\Disc1\ Now That's What I Call Music 2 This continues on up to album Now That's What I Call Music 76. Thanks in advance. |

Instead of putting the whole path in the album field you should use "Convert -> filename - tag".
The format string %album% - %dummy%\%dummy%\%dummy% should give you the desired result. -------------------- |

Hi Dano, Thanks for the reply but I am afraid that did not work for me. Nothing in the album field changed. Is there a format string available just to trim from "E:\mp3\Now That's What I Call Music\Now That's What I Call Music 72 - 2 CD\" to "Now That's What I Call Music 72"? Thanks. |

... that did not work for me. DO not apply that to the album field but use the converter And then you have to be painfully precise what a filename looks like. To extract the album name from ZITAT ...E:\mp3\Now That's What I Call Music\Now That's What I Call Music 72 - 2 CD\" to "Now That's What I Call Music 72"? Provided that your example is still the correct fully qualified pathname use Convert>Filename-Tag and enter: %album% - %dummy%\%dummy% The preview should show the result. Or use an action of the type "Replace with regular expression" for ALBUM and the following search string: e:\\mp3\\.*\\(.*) -.* Replace string $1 -------------------- 42 - wie war die Frage / what was the question / comment était la question
