Sorry if this has been answered before but i am new to Mp3tag.
I have filenames but no tags, what is the best way of getting Mp3tag to convert these filenames to tags without manaully cuting and pasteing. Examples of the files names below Elton John Benny And The Jets.mp3 Creedence Clearwater Revival Sweet Home Alabama.mp3 Brooke Benton A Lovers Question.mp3 Cameo Its Like Candy.mp3 Eddy Grant Walking On Sunshine.mp3 Thanks |

But anyway: Your examples are really bad filenames. There is no marker between artist and title, so Mp3Tag has no chance to detect what is what. You can use the Filenname - Tag Converter  with the following formatstrings:%artist% %title% for artists with one word like: Cameo Its Like Candy.mp3 %artist% %artist% %title% for artists with two words like: Elton John Benny And The Jets.mp3, Brooke Benton A Lovers Question.mp3, Eddy Grant Walking On Sunshine.mp3 %artist% %artist% %artist% %title% for artists with three words like: Creedence Clearwater Revival Sweet Home Alabama.mp3 ... %title% to get the whole name in the title and don't care about the artist |
