I'm using MP3TAP 2.32a (because I'm still running Windows ME) can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I've created a new genre in the Tools >> Options >> Genre. I select my files that I want to change the genre. I go to the pull down menu to select the genre. I save files and the genre field is now blank instead of having the selected genre in the field. What am I doing wrong?

Are you writing / reading ID3v2 tags? Maybe you are only reading the ID3v1 tag which does not support custom genres.
