Can I keep my settings when updating to a new version?
Yes, you can install a new version over an already installed version. The installation program will keep/upgrade your settings. If you want to backup your settings, please choose File, Save configuration. To restore the backup, you have to unzip the backup archive to %APPDATA%\Mp3tag which usually expands to the following directories

How to build a portable installation of Mp3tag? (e.g. on a USB stick)
To take your Mp3tag installation and all of its settings with you, you first have to run the installer on your home computer in the standard way. After that copy the installation directory, normally C:\Program Files\Mp3tag to your portable device and also copy the contents of the directory %APPDATA%\Mp3tag to that device. Please note that %APPDATA%\Mp3tag usually resolves to C:\Documents and Settings\<User>\Application Data\Mp3tag under Windows XP and to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Mp3tag under Windows Vista and Windows 7. After that the directory should contain the following files CODE Mp3tag
data export help lang mp3tag.cfg Mp3tag.exe tak_deco_lib.dll -------------------- |
