Full Version: Unicode filenames issue
Mp3tag Forums > Mp3tag - International > Development

The latest development build (2.32t) has a full Unicode support, which works really great. The only issue, that I have found so far: it is not always desirable to save filenames in Unicode when using Tag-Files conversion (this often causes several problems when using console utilitys, like Lame encoder).

What do you think about an option in Mp3Tag preferences to disable saving filenames in Unicode when using Tag-Files conversion? Or, maybe, it is a good idea to add a special checkbox which will allow/disallow Unicode in filenames right in 'Tag - Filename' Formatstring dialog window?

So, I just want to be able to handle Unicode tags, but do not want to save filenames in Unicode when using Tag-Files conversion.

Thank you!
Hi Valery!

The next Development Build is around the corner and will include an $ansi(x) scripting function, which converts the string x to the system codepage and back.

Best regards,
~ Florian
