How to add 3 additonal cover art without removing existing order?

Hi everyone

Using ver2.83

How do I add 3 additional cover art pics to multiple mp3's without changing the order or replacing the existing cover art pics?

I want the additional cover art pics to go after the existing cover art. NOT replace but ADD to in the correct order.

So if I have, let's say 3 existing cover art, I have 4 additional cover art I want to add, I want the 4 additional cover art to be placed after the 3 existing cover art in correct sequence.

I hope that came out clear.

I hope someone can help. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Hope to hear some help soon.

Thank you

You cannot set embedded pictures into a certain order.
But what you can do: assign a different type to each embedded picture, e.g. artist, leaflet, back cover. Like that you can address them individually for export.

During import set the option to keep existing pictures.

ok. Thnaks ohrenkino. I'll try that

Wouldn't setting an embedded picture in any order be a great feature request?

Anyway, let me see I understood correctly what you explained....

so... say for example I have 3 cover art I want to include... I would have to name them:

  1. MEDIA

  2. LYRICIST

  3. PUBLISHERLOGOTYPE

Would this mean that Front Cover and Back Cover would be first then MEDIA, LYRICIST, & PUBLISHERLOGOTYPE would be last in that order?

Also, would I have to setup a default folder to automatically grab the 3 cover art to automatically add the covers to an existing mp3 file? What I'm trying to do is auto add 3 covert pics to all my albums.

Would I have to use action or convert for this? If yes, what would the format string be?

I hope it doesn't sound too confusing....

As I said: the order cannot be determined. You can "only" address each embedded picture unambiguously. So if you set for yourself a certain order like first is cover, then back, then MEDIA, LYRICIST, PUBLISHERLOGOTYPE it is fine.

I do not know how you would have imported the pictures before you knew that there were cover types. Because: if there is no naming pattern, you cannot import them "automatically" but you have to do it one by one.
If, on the other hand, you have naming pattern, then use an action of the type "Import cover from file". In this action you can set the filename (that may contain text constants and variables) and determine the cover type. You would have to create a separate action for each cover type but you can join these actions in one action group.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to manually drag & drop additional cover art one by one :frowning:

Thank you for answering my question
