Hi, I had an old version of mp3Tag on my iMac, working properly.
Yesterday I decided to upgrade to 285 version.
I kept all steps :
- Download mp3tagv285-macOS-Wine.zip
- Delete the previous version
- Allow applications from verified developers at System Settings > Security
- Delete previous settings from /Users/<Your Name>/Library/Application Support/de.mp3tag.Mp3tag_*
- Unzip mp3tagv285-macOS-Wine.zip, copy Mp3tag.app to your Applications folder and run it from there

Restarted my Mac several times and nothing.
I try to run the app from Applictions folder and it seems to run for a second but then it disappears.
Desperated sad.gif
Help please.

There are two things people keep missing, maybe you can check:

Make sure you copy Mp3tag.app over to the Applications folder before executing — otherwise macOS will prevent it from running.

And the folder
CODE
/Users/<Your Name>/Library/Application Support/
is different from
CODE
/Library/Application Support/

Make sure you're deleting from the former (/Users/<Your Name>/Library/Application Support/). If you don't see the "Library" folder in your user's home directory, you'd need to make hidden files visible via Terminal.app and the command line
CODE
defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles YES

The changes will be applied after restarting your Mac. Good luck smile.gif

Hi, Florian.
I did everything you wrote.
I checked carefully that I deleted every folder from the right folder.
After that restarted and re-download the zip file.
Moved the app file to Applications folder and then nothing happens.
Just it appears again /Users/<Your Name>/Library/Application Support/de.mp3tag.Mp3tag_* that I deleted before restarting, but nothing about mp3tag running.

And worst, the old version that I was using until yesterday, doesn`t work as well sad.gif

Any further idea?

Are there any other files that are involved in running mp3tag on MacOs High Sierra?
I did every step carefully and keep without being able to use the app.
Neither old version. sad.gif
ideas?

I am also using a mac and had the same problem - luckily the suggestion from Florian did work for me... not sure, maybe you want to check again if all the steps you applied are correct? Check this one out: https://www.mp3tag.de/en/mac-osx.html - maybe you want to delete the old one and download it again if nothing else works....

Best,
Steph

Thanks Steph.... I did every step for many times. I'm quite sure I did it correctly.
Deleted, installed, delete again, download again... The mp3Tag icon appears for one second and then it disappears......

Nothing else... sad.gif

It is a little tricky to look over your shoulder from the distance to help you.

Here is another thread: https://forums.mp3tag.de/index.php?showtopic=21565&st=30
